What counts as collateral
Collateral is the printed material you hand over in person or leave behind: the business card at a first meeting, the brochure on a counter, the sell sheet after a sales call, the folder with a proposal inside. It works best as a set, because a customer often sees several pieces together.
| Piece | Common format | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Business card | 3.5 x 2 in, one or two sides | Introductions, counters, leave-behinds |
| Trifold brochure | Letter size folded in three | Service lists, menus of options, waiting rooms |
| Sell sheet | Letter size, one or two sides | One product or service with details and contact |
| Presentation folder | 9 x 12 in with pockets | Proposals, welcome packs, estimates |
| Letterhead and envelopes | Letter size and #10 | Estimates, invoices, formal letters |
Business cards
A business card has very little room, so we decide early what goes on it. Usually that's the logo, the person's name and role, one phone number, one email and the web address. A QR code or a short line about the service can go on the back. We set up a template so new team members get cards that match, with only the name and contact details changed.
Brochures and sell sheets
A brochure works when each panel has one job: the cover gets attention, the inside explains, and the back tells people how to reach you. We plan the fold before the design, so headings don't land on a crease and the panel people see first after opening is the one with the strongest content. Sell sheets follow a similar idea on one page: a headline, the main benefits, the details a buyer will ask about, and contact information.
Keeping the set consistent
We use the same colors, type and spacing across every piece, and keep a short style note with the files. When you order the next brochure or a trade show banner, it starts from the same base, which saves time and keeps your business looking like one company.
Questions
Can you work with my existing logo?
Yes. Send the best version you have. If it only exists as a small image, we can redraw a simple logo as a vector file so it prints sharply.
Do you write brochure copy?
We can write it from your notes, or edit what you have so it fits the panels. The quote will say which.
Need a flyer, a set of posts or a new sign? Tell us what it is for, where it will be seen and when you need the files.
