Pieces we design
Flyers and posters
Events, sales, grand openings and new services. Letter size, tabloid and larger poster formats.
Postcards and mailers
Direct mail pieces with room for the address block and postage area your mail house specifies.
Menus
Dine-in, takeout and table tent menus, with prices and items laid out so a change is quick to make.
Rack cards and door hangers
Narrow formats for counters, lobbies and neighborhood drops, a common choice for home service businesses.
Designed to be read fast
People give a flyer a few seconds. In that time they need to know what it is, why it matters to them, and what to do next. So we build every print piece around one main message, one clear offer or date, and one way to respond, such as a phone number, a web address or a QR code. Everything else goes smaller or onto the back.
If your copy is long, we'll suggest what to cut or move. If you don't have copy, we can write it from your notes, and the quote will say so.
Print-ready files
Most print problems come from file setup. We set every piece up for the printer you plan to use:
| Setting | What it means | Typical value |
|---|---|---|
| Bleed | Color or images that run past the trim so no white edge shows after cutting | 0.125 in on each side |
| Safe zone | Text and logos kept inside this line so trimming never clips them | 0.125 to 0.25 in from the trim |
| Color | Print files use CMYK ink colors; brand colors can be matched to spot colors if your printer offers it | CMYK or spot |
| Resolution | Photos sharp at the printed size | 300 ppi at final size |
| File | A flattened PDF with fonts embedded, or the format your printer asks for | Print PDF |
If your printer has a template or a spec sheet, send it, and we'll follow it over these defaults.
Paper and finish
Paper changes how a design looks. Dark, ink-heavy designs can look muddy on uncoated stock, and fine type can get lost on a heavy texture. Tell us the stock and finish if you know them, such as gloss, matte, uncoated or a soft-touch coating, and we design for it. If you haven't chosen, we'll note what suits the piece.
Questions
Can you design a menu that I update myself?
Yes. We can deliver an editable file with styles set up, so changing a price or an item doesn't break the layout. Tell us which software you use.
Can you add a QR code?
Yes. Send the link it should open. We size it to scan from the expected distance and test it before we deliver the file.
What if my logo is a small image?
A blurry logo shows badly in print. We can redraw a simple logo as a clean vector file as part of the job, which the quote will list.
Need a flyer, a set of posts or a new sign? Tell us what it is for, where it will be seen and when you need the files.
